We may only be five or six years old but we are super-duper clever already.
During reading time we are learning how to be good peer tutors. This is cool fun because helping others makes us feel good and it helps our own learning too.

Water Safety
As well as swimming every day in the gorgeous sunshine we have been talking about the importance of staying safe in and around water.

- walk around pools
- always use a ladder or do a safe entry from the side
- find out how deep the water is
- make sure you have a grown up with you all the time
- learn to swim
- wear a swim suit not clothes
- swim between the flags at the beach
- wear a life jacket all the time on a boat or a kayak

Perfect Pikelets
When the big kids stayed over after our Rocky Shore trip Room One and Flat Stanley got to whip up a delicious batch of pikelets.
We read the recipe carefully then made sure we had all the ingredients that we needed. Working in two groups we talked amongst ourselves and took turns doing the different jobs like measuring and mixing.
It took a little bit of practise to spoon the mixture into the hot pan without burning our fingers.
Best of all we devoured every single pikelet topped with either honey or jam or just plain. Delicious!!!
